We are thrilled to have a Team Barchy taking part in the iconic British 10k London Run on Sunday 10th July. The route is through the heart of central London, passing many of the capital’s truly world class historic landmarks.
Our fantastic Team Barchy runners are:
- Holly Saunders, regional administration assistant based at Winchester House
- Tibi Ionescu, general manager at Leonard Lodge
- Ion Burciu, regional nurse to Leonard Lodge
Our runners are very excited about this challenge and are training really hard ahead of the big day in July. Sadly one of the team Chip Chitambala got injured during training and has had to pull out on doctor’s advice. Wishing Chip a speedy recovery and hoping that she will be able to do next year instead!
Team Barchy is fundraising for Barchester's Charitable Foundation - a charity helping older people and adults living with a disability. We give grants to help reduce isolation and loneliness, promote group activities and generally improve people's independence, mobility and quality of life.
One of our team, Holly (pictured here at another running race) has first-hand experience of how our charity can help: “Fundraising for the Foundation means a lot to me. My aunty has MS and Barchester’s Charitable Foundation helped to buy her first electric wheelchair a while back! So it’s also close to my heart as well as being a great cause.”
Team Barchy is aiming to raise at least £750 and if you would like to sponsor the team please follow this link:
As with any fundraising by Barchester staff for the Foundation, the company will generously match your donation pound for pound.
Good luck Team Barchy!
