As we say goodbye to 2016 we want to say a big thank you for supporting Barchester’s Charitable Foundation during the year. We hope you and your family enjoy a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic New Year!
We are very pleased to have awarded 16 new grants this month helping to spread the Christmas cheer to older people and adults living with a disability. One of these grants was supporting a great Christmas project run by Jacksons Lane in North London. Our funding will help the charity to deliver a large-scale project that sees the community coming together to deliver Christmas Day lunch (with gifts, live entertainment, transport, crackers, turkey, and all the trimmings) to 250 older people and disabled people in the area who would otherwise be spending the day alone. The day is entirely run by volunteers.
Our Christmas photo is of the two Barchester Christmas cards being sold in our aid this Christmas. Luisa Shippey, resident at Longuevill Court care home in Peterborough painted a fabulous festive fireplace and Biddy Bullinger, resident at Ashfields care home in Norwich drew a dog that makes us all smile. Thank you very much to everyone who bought the cards, and a special thanks to Luisa and Biddy for their beautiful designs!
