Chrissie Calver, a care home Activities Assistant has raised more than £200 for charity by taking part in a 10K run on 30th April 2017.
Inspired by her work with older people at Rose Lodge Care Home in Wisbech, she wanted to do something more to help other individuals in the community who need extra support in order to live their lives to the full.
The money she raised will go to Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a registered charity that helps older people and other adults with a disability across England, Scotland & Wales.
The Grand East Anglia Run (GEAR) 10K is a fast, flat 10k road race through the streets of King’s Lynn. It is organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All and sponsored by The Asda Foundation.
Chrissie Calver said: “I am pleased that I beat my time from my previous runs and my estimated time which was 1 hour and 20 minutes. I finished the race in 1 hour 15 minutes and 31 seconds and I got a shiny medal to show off at work. This is what slow looks like but at least I’m running!”
