Michael Butler, who has raised thousands for charity, is delighted to have been nominated to join the Board of national charity, Barchester’s Charitable Foundation.

Michael Butler, Activities Coordinator at Hollyfields Care Home became a trustee on the Board of Barchester’s Charitable Foundation this year after he was nominated for his ongoing commitment to raising money and awareness for the charity.

Michael is often seen going about Kidderminster carrying the Foundation’s adorable mascot, Barchy the Bear, to raise awareness and last year he raised £470 for the charity by doing a sponsored ‘dryathlon’ for two months. Michael was crowned Foundation Champion at the 2015 Barchester Care Awards in recognition of his promotional work of the Foundation as well as for his fundraising at the home.

Michael said: “I have always had a very keen interest in my local community and fundraising for charity. Over the years I have raised approx. £16,000 for several charities. I strongly believe in improving and enhancing individual wellbeing and strive to do that in my work at Hollyfields Care Home and now as a trustee of Barchester’s Charitable Foundation.”
