At the beginning of this year we awarded a funding contribution to a lady called Chantelle who has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. Our grant was used towards the cost of a foldable mobility scooter to help her to improve her independence.
The feedback that Chantelle provided outlined how she has been using her new mobility scooter to go out and do lots of things all on her own. The main benefit is that she no longer has to wait for someone to take her out and she can just go out by herself and be completely independent. She uses it to go everywhere as it's so easy and compact to use.
The mobility scooter has changed her life completely and since receiving it she has not used her manual wheelchair at all. Chantelle now feels that she is completely independent and her life seems so much less stressful. She explains how she uses it daily to get out into the community and she is so much happier.
