Improving independence
/ September 2026In February we awarded funding to a lady with several health conditions that were impairing her everyday life, including significant Arthritis causing joint pain and inflammation. This had left her housebound and had led to feelings of isolation and disconnection from the community. Our funding was for the purchase of a mobility scooter to help improve her mobility and independence.
Following purchase of the scooter this lady sent us some lovely feedback:
"I can't thank you enough and can’t explain in words how much this means to me.
This equipment has given me the opportunity to get out and about on my own. Something I have not been able to do in a very long time. It’s given me confidence and strength as I can do stuff on my own. Like going and getting some basic shopping done. I can also go on visits to parks and outings with the rest of my family without feeling like a burden or nuisance as I always need help etc. I am now looking forward to visiting local families in the summer without having to rely on others.
Peace and blessings to this amazing charity".
