Lauren Lovatt normally works as part of the Regulation and Quality Improvement team at Barchester, but on 1st June she will be donning her walking boots and using sheer grit and determination to climb to the top of the 4,400ft summit of the highest point in the British Isles, in order to raise funds for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation.
A keen walker, always out with her dogs and no stranger to a charity challenge, Lauren has been training hard – she has previously climbed Snowdon, raised money for cancer charities following her brother’s diagnosis and donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust, but this is the first time she has climbed a mountain of this scale.
Lauren comments: “This is my first time taking on Ben Nevis and I’m really excited to tackle it but also very nervous, especially about what the weather might throw at me! I absolutely love taking on challenges like this, I’m hoping to raise lots of money for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation which is a fantastic charity. I know that colleagues, family and friends are behind me plus I have a great group of people climbing with me, and all their support along with the money I’m raising will help me go the distance!”
