Clocking up the miles
December 2024Jane, 54, from Dorchester lives with MS and has also survived cancer. Jane is a very determined woman, who wants to remain as active as possible for as long as possible.
We helped with funding for an adaptive handcycle, which helps her exercise on another level, with huge benefit to her mental and social wellbeing. She joins in rides with other disabled and non-disabled riders, engaging with local cycling groups, her friends and family.
Jane has been clocking up the miles on the handcycle and has been exploring areas of the countryside that had previously been off limits for many years following the progression of MS.
Having an adaptive handcycle has allowed Jane to join in rides with her partner and her friends, this level of inclusion has been received with immense gratitude. Being able to spend time together with loved ones and making the most of it out on the trails will make coping with MS a bit easier. It has been heartwarming for everyone around her to see the positive impact on Jane.
