Trish Alton takes on 100km Ultramarathon

/ July 2024
Trish Alton

On Saturday 13th July, Trish Alton, General Manager at Barchester’s Henford House care home in Warminster, will attempt the mammoth 100km "Race to the Stones" running challenge along the oldest path in Britain.

Trish first started running in 2020 after unintentionally signing up for the London Marathon, she got a charity place and so couldn’t turn it down.  Since then she has completed three marathons but admits she has never taken on a challenge this big before!  She will be digging deep and using all of her grit, guts and determination to try to complete the gruelling 100km race towards the 5,000 year old Avebury Standing Stones.  Everyone at the Henford House care home is hugely proud of Trish for attempting this run.  If you would like to donate, please visit: Patricia Alton is fundraising for Barchester's Charitable Foundation (justgiving.com)

Trish Alton, comments: “Supporting Barchester's Charitable Foundation is really important to me as I have seen how crucial it is for people to have access to their communities and to have ways to build and maintain true connections in their lives. By supporting Barchester's Charitable Foundation I am able to contribute in some way to the fantastic work they do and I know that this will have a direct and meaningful impact on reducing isolation and that is what is going to help me get to those stones on Saturday.”
