Earlier in 2022 we awarded funding to Xmas Presence. They are a small volunteer led group who plan a Christmas party every year, which is available to any older person in York and the surrounding areas.
They provided a free of charge Christmas party and meal on Christmas Day for 40 people, who would otherwise have spent Christmas alone. They also provided and delivered 100 meals on wheels and hampers to those who were housebound. The participants had a fantastic day, made friends and exchanged numbers with others in their local area, as they were seated on the same table. The volunteers who delivered the meals on wheels stayed to chat to those that they had visited, which is just as vital as the meals they deliver.
This was a lovely project and we were glad to have been able to contribute to it.
