Recycling cycles!
In July we awarded funding to Reddish Men in Sheds. They are a group of (mainly) older men who meet three afternoons each week to service and repair donated old bicycles.
Venturing out
We're delighted to have awarded funding to Paul for the purchase of a mobility scooter. Paul has Osteoarthritis and Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) which causes poor mobility. This means that he struggles to go out, resulting in isolation.
A breath of fresh air!
In May we awarded funding to Breathe Easy Darlington. They are a charity providing support to people living within the local area who suffer from chronic lung conditions such as COPD, Bronchiectasis, Asthma and other progressive conditions. .
Jubilant Barchester runners at the Great North Run
Huge congratulations to our fantastic Barchester runners Kirsty Taylor, Becky Dearing, Tom Hodges and Zsuzsanna Bodog, who completed the Great North Run route from Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields on Sunday 7th September.
Barchester's Annual Golf Tournament
The 2025 Barchester Golf Masters takes place on 3rd - 4th September at The Belfry, in Sutton Coldfield near Birmingham in aid of Barchester’s Charitable Foundation.
Renewed independence for Alfie
Back in February funding was awarded to Alfie. Alfie has Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a non-epileptic attack disorder and autistic spectrum disorder. He is unemployed and was very isolated as he was unable to get out of the house for spells of no more than an hour with his old wheelchair.
Out and about safely again
In January we awarded funding to Calvin for a mobility scooter. Calvin broke his back many years ago and since then he has issues with mobility, pain, nerve damage and numbness. His L1 vertebra has been removed and replaced with a pin, which causes considerable issues,
Busy activity session
In May this year we awarded funding to Engage TN22 Clubs. They are a charity based in Bexhill-on-Sea and their TN22 Plus club is especially tailored for people with memory loss,
Wildlife photography for charity
Reji Joseph, a talented team member from Barchester Healthcare’s Middletown Grange care home in Hailey, near Witney is staging a mammoth photographic exhibition and sale to raise money for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation.
